About This California Teak Wood Dining Table 6 Seater
Look at the corners of the top. Each one shows a square of end grain, flush with the surface — that is the top of the leg itself, running straight through rather than stopping underneath. It means the leg carries the load directly from the tabletop to the floor instead of hanging off the apron, and it gives the table its heavy, squared-off look without any carving or moulding.
Underneath, each leg is joined to the apron with a corner block bolted diagonally across the joint. That block is what keeps the table square. It also lets the table be taken apart for moving and tightened again if a joint ever loosens with seasonal movement — a quarter turn with a spanner, not a trip to a carpenter.
At 148 x 90 cm, the extra depth matters as much as the extra length. Ninety centimetres leaves room down the centre for serving bowls and a jug of water between two rows of place settings, which is what an Indian family meal actually needs — dal, sabzi, rice, and rotis all on the table at once, not passed around.

No, the table is sold on its own. Chairs shown in the images are for styling. Matching chairs are available in our chair collection.
The table stands 76 cm, which is standard dining height. It pairs with chairs of 45 to 47 cm seat height and with our 45 cm dining benches.
Allow about 90 cm of clearance on each side where chairs are used, so they can be pulled out and people can walk behind. That puts the comfortable room size at roughly 3.3 x 2.7 metres.
Solid teak throughout, in a natural teak finish. Teak has a high natural oil content, which is why it resists moisture and stains better than most hardwoods — useful on a surface that sees daily meals.
Hot vessels straight from the stove will mark any finished wood surface. Use trivets or a runner for hot pans. Plates, bowls and glasses are fine directly on the top.
It arrives knock-down. The legs bolt to the apron with the fittings provided, and instructions are included. Two people are recommended for turning the top over during assembly.
The legs are joined with bolted corner blocks. If a joint loosens over time — usually through seasonal movement in the first year — tighten the bolts under the apron with the key provided.

Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth for daily cleaning. Avoid standing water and direct sunlight for extended periods. Apply a thin coat of raw linseed oil or furniture oil once every 12 to 18 months if the surface looks dry. Sheesham and Teak contain natural oils and do not require heavy chemical maintenance.
All Mamta Handicraft furniture carries a 36-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Every piece is also covered by lifetime termite protection, a 3-step chemical treatment applied during manufacturing at our Ratangarh factory. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, water submersion, or unauthorised modifications.
