No. The bed is supplied as a frame only. We recommend a mattress 20 to 25 cm thick — thinner than 20 cm and the mattress sits low against the footboard, thicker than 25 cm and it rises above it.

The cane is set into a routed groove and locked with a reed spline under tension, which is what keeps a woven panel taut. It is also in the footboard, where nothing leans on it. Keep it dusted and away from prolonged direct sunlight, which dries natural cane out.

Vacuum it with a brush attachment every few weeks to keep dust out of the channels. For marks, use a lightly damp cloth and blot rather than rub. Let it dry fully before making the bed against it.

It arrives knock-down for DIY assembly. The headboard, footboard, side rails, and slat base bolt together; fittings and instructions are included. Two people are recommended, mainly for handling the weight of the solid teak panels.

Solid teak throughout the frame, in a natural teak finish. Teak has a high natural oil content, which is why it resists moisture and insects and holds its shape in Indian conditions without heavy chemical treatment.

It ships disassembled, so the largest single piece is the headboard — 163 cm wide for the Queen, 193 cm for the King, and around 110 cm tall. Standard Indian doorways of 90 cm and above are fine, as the panel goes through on its side.

Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth for daily cleaning. Avoid standing water and direct sunlight for extended periods. Apply a thin coat of raw linseed oil or furniture oil once every 12 to 18 months if the surface looks dry. Sheesham and Teak contain natural oils and do not require heavy chemical maintenance.
