Most beds with cane put it in the headboard, where you lean against it. This one puts cane in the footboard and upholstery in the headboard, which is the sensible way round. The panel you rest against every night is padded fabric; the woven panel is the one nobody touches.
Look at the edge of the cane panel where it meets the frame — you should see a thin strip of reed running around the perimeter. That is a spline, and it means the webbing sits in a routed groove under tension, which is what stops a cane panel sagging. The headboard is channel upholstered, not button tufted: each vertical channel is stitched and filled separately, so the seams stay flat over years instead of pulling loose. Underneath, the frame sits 16 cm off the floor — enough for a vacuum head to pass through.

Queen and King. The Queen takes a 198 x 152 cm mattress and measures 208 x 163 cm overall. The King takes a 200 x 180 cm mattress and measures 218 x 193 cm overall. Both are 110 cm tall at the headboard. Select your size from the variant options above.
No. The bed is supplied as a frame only. We recommend a mattress 20 to 25 cm thick — thinner than 20 cm and the mattress sits low against the footboard, thicker than 25 cm and it rises above it.
No. This is an open-frame bed with 16 cm of floor clearance underneath, which suits under-bed boxes and lets a vacuum pass through. If you need built-in storage, see our hydraulic and drawer storage beds in the beds collection.
The cane is set into a routed groove and locked with a reed spline under tension, which is what keeps a woven panel taut. It is also in the footboard, where nothing leans on it. Keep it dusted and away from prolonged direct sunlight, which dries natural cane out.
Vacuum it with a brush attachment every few weeks to keep dust out of the channels. For marks, use a lightly damp cloth and blot rather than rub. Let it dry fully before making the bed against it.
It arrives knock-down for DIY assembly. The headboard, footboard, side rails, and slat base bolt together; fittings and instructions are included. Two people are recommended, mainly for handling the weight of the solid teak panels.
Solid teak throughout the frame, in a natural teak finish. Teak has a high natural oil content, which is why it resists moisture and insects and holds its shape in Indian conditions without heavy chemical treatment.
It ships disassembled, so the largest single piece is the headboard — 163 cm wide for the Queen, 193 cm for the King, and around 110 cm tall. Standard Indian doorways of 90 cm and above are fine, as the panel goes through on its side.

Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth for daily cleaning. Avoid standing water and direct sunlight for extended periods. Apply a thin coat of raw linseed oil or furniture oil once every 12 to 18 months if the surface looks dry. Sheesham and Teak contain natural oils and do not require heavy chemical maintenance.
All Mamta Handicraft furniture carries a 36-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Every piece is also covered by lifetime termite protection, a 3-step chemical treatment applied during manufacturing at our Ratangarh factory. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, water submersion, or unauthorised modifications.
