Dining chairs without arms fail for one of two reasons: the seat is too shallow (you feel like you're about to slide off), or the back angle is wrong (you hunch forward to maintain balance). The Hayward avoids both. The seat depth is sufficient that the back edge of the seat doesn't cut into the back of the knee after 30 minutes. The cane back is angled backward slightly, which positions the spine correctly for upright dining.
Acacia wood at the frame. The cane back is hand-woven in an oval panel. Hand-woven cane is slightly irregular in weave tension because each row is done individually. That irregularity is the structural advantage: the strands interlock at varying tensions, which means the panel doesn't fail from a single loose strand the way machine-pressed cane does when one face fibre separates. All dining chairs in our range sit at a standard 43 to 45 cm seat height, which pairs correctly with any 75 to 76 cm height dining table. Measure your existing table height to confirm compatibility.
Solid wood legs can mark polished marble or tile floors without protection. Rubber or felt floor pads (not included) on all legs are recommended. These are available at any hardware store.
This product is made to order by our artisans in Ratangarh, Rajasthan. Orders are dispatched within 7 to 10 business days. Delivery across India takes an additional 7 to 10 business days after dispatch.
Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth for daily cleaning. Avoid standing water and direct sunlight for extended periods. Apply a thin coat of raw linseed oil or furniture oil once every 12 to 18 months if the surface looks dry. Sheesham and Teak contain natural oils and do not require heavy chemical maintenance.
All Mamta Handicraft furniture carries a 36-month warranty against manufacturing defects. Every piece is also covered by lifetime termite protection, a 3-step chemical treatment applied during manufacturing at our Ratangarh factory. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, water submersion, or unauthorised modifications.
