The Chandigarh chair is a specific design: an angular acacia frame, a woven cane back panel, and a cushioned seat. The proportions are fixed by the original reference. What varies between manufacturers is the frame material and the cane quality. This version uses solid acacia, which is considerably denser than the rubberwood or plantation teak typically used on replica Chandigarh chairs at lower price points. The joints at the sharp angles hold without loosening because acacia's hardness resists compression at the fastener points.
The cane back panel is hand-woven. The weave varies slightly in tension because it's done by hand. Machine-pressed cane is perfectly uniform and loses its surface texture within two to three years as the face fibres abrade. Hand-woven rattan retains its structure because the individual strands run continuous and the weave is structurally interlocked. Both chairs in this set are matched from the same production batch.

All dining chairs in our range sit at a standard 43 to 45 cm seat height, which pairs correctly with any 75 to 76 cm height dining table. Measure your existing table height to confirm compatibility.
Solid wood legs can mark polished marble or tile floors without protection. Rubber or felt floor pads (not included) on all legs are recommended. These are available at any hardware store.

Wipe with a dry or lightly damp cloth for daily cleaning. Avoid standing water and direct sunlight for extended periods. Apply a thin coat of raw linseed oil or furniture oil once every 12 to 18 months if the surface looks dry. Sheesham and Teak contain natural oils and do not require heavy chemical maintenance.

Every piece is also covered by lifetime termite protection, a 3-step chemical treatment applied during manufacturing at our Ratangarh factory. The warranty does not cover damage from misuse, water submersion, or unauthorised modifications.
