The grooved detailing on mango wood is done by routing the surface after assembly. On a painted finish this deep, the grooves catch shadow and give the surface visual depth that flat painted furniture simply doesn't have. The tapered legs are what prevent a piece this colour from reading as heavy in a room. Get the proportion right between leg diameter and panel height, and the furniture sits lightly. This one does.
