About This Majestic Posture – Sheesham Wood Poster Bed
Turned posts on a four-poster bed read differently in a room depending on what the rest of the furniture is doing. Sheesham's warm grain tone keeps the posts from looking institutional, which is the failure mode for four-posters in darker-stained finishes on lighter woods. The natural Sheesham grain shows through and softens the formality without making the bed look casual.
At 48 inches tall, the posts are tall enough to define this as a four-poster without requiring a canopy to justify the height. They're joined to the headboard and footboard with mortise-and-tenon construction, so the corner joints don't rack laterally over years of use. Racking at the corners is what makes cheaper four-poster beds creak within three to four years of regular use.
