About This Velin Round Solidwood Pedestal Dining Table
Round tables solve the corner problem in small dining rooms. A rectangular table forces chair positions: two on each long side, one at each end. A round table doesn't. Everyone is equidistant from the centre, and no one is relegated to an end seat. At 110 cm in diameter with a pedestal base (no corner legs), four people sit with about 86 cm of clearance each, which is better than the 75 cm that makes dining feel crowded.
The fluted pedestal base is turned from solid mango wood. No corner legs means chairs don't catch on table legs when someone needs to get up mid-meal. Mango wood is dense enough that the narrow sections of the fluted column hold their geometry under load without deflecting, which is the failure point on softer-wood pedestal tables where the column begins to bow slightly after a year or two of regular use.

Every piece is also covered by lifetime termite protection, a 3-step chemical treatment applied during manufacturing at our Ratangarh factory.
