About This Versailles Bed Frame
Scalloped edges on a headboard do one specific thing: they soften the geometry of a rectangular room. The Versailles headboard is high enough to make a visual impact without needing a reading light mounted to the wall for sufficient clearance. The upholstery sits on a solid mango wood backing, so the shape holds over time.
Mango wood has a consistent density through the grain, which is why it cuts cleanly into the curved profile at the headboard top. Softer woods splinter at the cut edge when upholstery is applied. Here the joint between the wood frame and the padded panel stays clean because the substrate doesn't give. The slatted base allows air to circulate below the mattress, which reduces humidity buildup in the base of the bed during monsoon months.
